R. Eric Strain, OD

Dr. R. Eric Strain has been offering comprehensive primary eye care services in the Bay County region since 1991. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Saginaw Valley State University and a Doctor of Optometry degree from Ferris State.

After graduation, he worked with Dr. Frederick J Cady, MD for 9 years before leaving to focus on his private optometric practice. Dr. Strain combines some of the latest eye care technology with old-fashioned personalized care to help his patients with their vision needs. He has been certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and earned his certification for diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents in 1995. He is a member of the Michigan Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, a charter member of the Contact Lens Section of the AOA, Chairman of the Michigan Eye Associates, and a past-president of the Saginaw Valley Optometric Society.

Dr. Strain resides in the Bay City area with his wife Kathy and they have 3 grown children. He is a member of All Saints Parish and is a Melvin Jones Fellow of the Bay City Lions Club.
